PrimeTime Sneaks Past Snipers- April 20, 2023
The PrimeTime Players hosted the Gastonia Snipers in their second matchup of the season, two weeks after PrimeTime had Knock off the Snipers 128-103 in Fort Mill. The second game looked as if it would be no different with PG Kerigan Farley (6'2''-G, college: Wingate) dishing out 7 quick assists and Isiah Cureton (6'4''-F, college: Wingate) and Matthew Powell (6'1''-G-1997, college: Mars Hill) came out on fire combining for 28 of PrimeTimes 37 first quarter points as PrimeTime lead 37-25 at the end of 1. The next two quarters the teams played even with BJ Tyson from Gastonia scoring 20 over that time but he was matched by Anthony Johnson with PrimeTime Who had 25 for PrimeTime as they led 94-85. The 4th quarter it looked as if PrimeTime would be able to keep Gastonia at bay but guard Marquise Gaines scored 15 in the 4th and after a three pointer by BJ Tyson the Snipers led 113-112 with 40 seconds to go. The next play saw the Sniper get a stop to only have it stolen by Daryl Evans (6'1''-G) and then Kerigan Farley found Isiah Cureton for a three pointer which was his second over the last 90 seconds to give PrimeTime Players the lead at 115-113. PrimeTime was then able to get a stop but turned the ball over and gave Gastonia one last chance to win the game with 14 seconds remaining. The final shot went to Warren Vinson that rimmed out at the buzzer and PrimeTime was able to escape with the home win and improved them to 8-0 on the season. |
