Tribe pick up first victory over Magic

The Charlotte Tribe obtained their first win of the season with a 137 - 122 victory over a competitive Garden City Magic. The Tribe led the entire contest with the largest lead going as high as 20 points. The Charlotte Tribe had seven players in double figures including Junior Robinson who scored 25 points and dished out seven assists. Other leading scorers for the Tribe include David Tripp (6'5''-F, college: Milligan) with 20 points, Josh Calhoun with 19 points and Thomas Spagnolo (6'7''-F-1991, college: App State) with 14 points. The Garden City Magic kept things interesting through the whole game, getting within nine points before the start of the fourth quarter. The Magic were led by Michael Couvson with 34 points and seven assists. Other leading scorers were Scheraun King (6'3''-G-1987, college: Albany St.) with 28 points, Kyler Haynes (6'7''-F-1998, college: UAM, agency: Domantay Sports) with 22 points, and George Jones (6'3''-G, college: Paine) with 12 points. The Magic fall to 1-3 after this latest setback. The Charlotte Tribe are currently 1-2 and are two games behind the PrimeTime Players for first place in the ECBL Southwest Division. The Tribe look to keep the momentum going on Sunday March 20th as they stay home to take on the Florence Wildcats. Meanwhile, Garden City will look to get back to their winning ways as they take a trip to West Columbia, South Carolina for a mid-afternoon showdown with the Carolina Crusaders on March 20th.
