The PrimeTime Players picked up two wins over the weekend to close out the regular season undefeated and to clinch the top overall seed for the 2017 ECBL playoffs.
PrimeTime hosted the SC All Stars on Saturday in a matchup of two of the top teams in the Southern Division over the first three years of the league and came away with a 143-118 win. Chris Moore (6'2''-PG-86, college: Charleston So.) led the way with his third triple-double of the season with 36 points, 15 assists and 12 rebounds. Danny Sanders (6'7''-SF-89, college: Jarvis Christian) and Terell Smith (6'3''-G-85, college: Limestone) combined for 54 points including 15 made three pointers.

Sunday the PrimeTime Players traveled to Hopkins, SC to take on the 12-0 Carolina Crusaders in a matchup for the Southern Conference regular season crown and overall top seed. The Crusaders started off strong opening up an early 14-point lead before PrimeTime was able to settle down and close the quarter on a 29-6 run and take a 33-26 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The next two quarters the teams both played even throughout, with PrimeTime holding onto the lead through the next two quarters with a 59-53 lead at the half and a 92-86 to start the fourth . The fourth quarter the home team Crusaders started to find there range from behind the three point arch and after Terell Smith fouled out at the 8 minute mark, and then starting PG Dijuan Harris (5'9''-PG-86, college: Charlotte) went down with a ankle injury it seemed as if the Crusaders would close out the win after taking a 104-96 lead at the two minute mark.

After trading baskets over the next minute PrimeTime was down 110-104 with 44 seconds remaining, but stormed back with three straight defensive stops and eight straight points from Danny Sanders to send the game into overtime. In overtime the teams traded baskets over the next four minutes with Columbia holding a 123-122 lead before PrimeTime's final possession. PrimeTime attempted two straight three pointers getting the offensive rebound and on the last one with 15 seconds remaining. PJ Heath tipped the ball to half court where Chris Moore was waiting to hit a three pointer to give PrimeTime their first lead since early in the fourth quarter. The final attempt for the Crusader fell shorts as PrimeTime was able to steal the win and earn the #1 overall seed for the third straight season.

Winston-Salem Wolves Run Away From SC Upstate 120-80 - 1 day ago
The Winston-Salem Wolves remained unbeaten in ECBL play this season with a home win over the SC Upstate Redhawks on Saturday, March 16, with a final score of 120-80. The Redhawks scored first and held the first lead of the game, but a deep three pointer by starting guard Antonio Robinson (6'4''-G-93, college: E.Carolina) quickly put the Wolves out in front and the team never trailed again in the game. The Wolves came into the contest somewhat shorthanded, with shooting guard Lepreece Lync...   [read more]
Petersburg Cavs blowout Cardinals 133-101 - 7 days ago
The Petersburg Cavaliers (1-1) understand the value of competing for four quarters. In their first game they came out flat in the second half, and it cost them. This game they were not going to let that happen again and scored 38 points in the third quarter helping them secure a thirty-point victory over the East Carolina Cardinals (1-1). "Last game we did not have a good third quarter," said Cavs coach Kyle Dixon , "We made sure that this game, that we put in extra effort in the third qu...   [read more]

Winston-Salem Wolves Remain Unbeaten With Win Over Division Rival Coyotes - 7 days ago
The Winston-Salem Wolves remain unbeaten in the 2019 ECBL season after notching a win over division rival NC Coyotes 119-117 on Saturday, March 9th. The Coyotes, based in Durham, fell to 0-2 after their opening day loss to Hickory last week. Leading the team in scoring was Wolves forward Zalinor Banks, who worked well against the zone to pour in 33 points and grab 13 rebounds. Banks took advantage of the zone defense played by the Coyotes to repeatedly find mid range jumpers on 12 for 21...   [read more]
