Hughes' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

27-year old American center Michael Hughes (203-C-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Montreal Alliance and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Saskatchewan (#5, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 93-80. Alliance maintains the 4th position in their group in the CEBL league. Montreal is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. Hughes just recently signed at Alliance and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. University of Duquesne graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hughes leads league in rebounds with 13.5rpg. Hughes is in league's top in and averages solid 71.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. (208-F-1998) of top-ranked Winnipeg Sea Bears. He is American forward in his first season at Winnipeg. In the last game Tilmon Jr. recorded an impressive double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Sea Bears cruised to a 108-96 relatively comfortable win over Saskatchewan (0-3). The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let's wait for the next round. Tilmon Jr. is one of the most experienced players at Winnipeg and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Myles Powell (188-G-1997) of league's second-best Scarborough Shooting Stars. Powell got into 30-points club by scoring 41 points in the last round. He went also for six assists. He was a key player of Shooting Stars, leading his team to a 103-101 win against #1 ranked Winnipeg in a game of the week. Scarborough has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Powell also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Powell has a great season in CEBL. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 34.5ppg (best scorer) and assists with 5.5apg (9th best).

8. Tavian Dunn-Martin (173-PG-1998) of Saskatchewan - 30 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Ja'Vonte Smart (193-G-1999) of Ottawa - 21 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Javon Freeman-Liberty (191-G-1999) of Montreal - 18 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
