Center Simi Shittu (208-C-1999) had a great game in the last round for Winnipeg Sea Bears, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Vancouver (#2, 8-3) 92-85. Sea Bears maintains the 3rd position in their group in the CEBL . Winnipeg is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Shittu had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Sea Bears, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Simi Shittu averages just after three games 21.7ppg and 10.0rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Australian Mitch Creek (196-F/G-1992) of league's second-best Vancouver Bandits. Creek had a very good evening with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Bandits lost that game 85-92 to slightly lower-ranked Winnipeg (#3, 5-5). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Western Conference. Vancouver still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 8-3 record is not bad at all. Creek is one of the most experienced players at Vancouver and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.7ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 6.8rpg and 3.9apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward David Muenkat (201-F-2000, agency: Players Group) of Brampton Honey Badgers (#5). Muenkat scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Honey Badgers, leading his team to a 88-86 win against slightly higher-ranked Saskatchewan (#5, 2-9). Brampton can only dream about fighting for top spots in Western Conference. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Muenkat has individually a great season in CEBL. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (4th best). He also has a FGP of 54.3% and 3PT: 44.2%.
