Regular Season Round 8: Swish - Reign 55-80

There was a small surprise when seventh rankedReign (2-6) crushed 5th ranked Swish (3-5) in Oakland 80-55 on Saturday. Reign dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Swish 's 24. Reign forced 22 Swish turnovers. The winners were led by swingman Mo Bennett (177-1990, college: Georgia Tech) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 17 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and point guard Kim Hanlon (173, college: Stony Brook) supported her with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Four Reign players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds by forward Madison Michelis (180, college: Menlo) did not help to save the game for Swish . Guard Nicol Berry (175) added 15 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Reign maintains seventh position with 2-6 record. Loser Swish keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Royals.
