There was a small surprise in Kitchener where top-rankedDistillers (2-0) defeated their close opponent Titans (20-9) 123-114 on Saturday. Derby City D. forced 25 KW Titans turnovers. Strangely KW Titans outrebounded Derby City D. 58-46 including 20 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Tarkus Ferguson (193-1995, college: UIC) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Canadian guard Graddy Kanku (194-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Ronnie Boyce III (191-1995, college: USF) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Jaquan Lightfoot (203, college: Southeastern) added 19 points and 18 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Titans' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Derby City D. maintains first position with 2-0 record which they share with defeated KW Titans . Loser Titans still keep top place with nine games lost.
