No shocking result in a game when leaderDistillers (1-0) edged 5th ranked Five (10-9) in Sudbury 125-123 on Saturday. Canadian guard Graddy Kanku (194-1999) nailed 25 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Greg Bowie II (190-1998, college: TAMIU, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 30 points and 5 rebounds. Bowie II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Distillers' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard AJ Mosby Jr (190-1996, college: Alcorn St.) came up with 32 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Jalen Hayes (201-1995, college: Oakland) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Sudbury F. in the defeat. Four Derby City D. and five Sudbury F. players scored in double figures. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Despite that victory Distillers went down to first position due to points difference. Sudbury F. lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost.
