The game between closely ranked teams ended with third rankedBlue Waves ' (2-1) home victory over 4th placed Majestics (0-3) in Long Beach 126-100 on Sunday. Long Beach BV well out of reach of Bakersfield M. shooting 92.9 percent from the field. It was an exceptional evening for guard Bonard Johnson (188-2002, college: Long Beach CC) who led the winners and scored 25 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Forward Mark Carter (198-1997, college: Alcorn St.) accounted for 18 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Forward Brandon Yates (198-1998, college: Chemeketa) came up with 30 points (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!) and forward Jiair Winfrey (197-1996) added 14 points respectively for Bakersfield M. in the defeat. Five Long Beach BV and four Bakersfield M. players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Long Beach BV moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Majestics still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams.
