Regular Season Round 18: Carolina C. - Gulf Coast L. 155-128

There was no surprise in Columbia where 8th ranked Lions (1-3) were crushed by third ranked Coyotes (6-1) 155-128 on Sunday. Coyotes well out of reach of Lions shooting 78.8 percent from the field and made 33-of-41 free shots (80.5 percent) during the game. Coyotes shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Lions' players. Lions were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Eric Eaves (190-94, college: SC State) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Quincy Washington (198-90, college: Allen) chipped in 32 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Coyotes' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward RJ Palmer (201, college: W.Nebraska) who recorded 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Joshua Keyes (201-95, college: Muskingum, agency: PBAplayers Agency) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Coyotes have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-1 record having 4 victories less than leader San Diego G. Loser Lions keep the eighth place with three games lost. Coyotes will face Firebirds (#5) in Raleigh in the next round. Lions will play on the road against Titans in Tampa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
