Regular Season Round 17: Little Rock L. - Omaha F. 121-135

Rather predictable result in Little Rock where sixth ranked Finest (3-6) beat 8th ranked Lightning (4-8) 135-121 on Saturday. Finest forced 33 Lightning turnovers. Strangely Lightning outrebounded Finest 57-36 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists. Lightning was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Devonte Patterson (201-96, college: PVAMU) who had a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Craig Sword (190-94, college: MSU) chipped in 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks. Power forward Percell Washington (198-96, college: CBC) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds and guard Deonta Terrell (193-92, college: A&M-Commerce) added 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Finest and five Lightning players scored in double figures. Lightning's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Finest maintains sixth place with 3-6 record, which they share with Tampa Bay T. and Tri-State A. Loser Lightning dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Finest will face league's second-placed Outlaws in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
