The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked Ballers' (6-6) road loss to first ranked Guardians (9-2) 94-113 on Friday. Guardians dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Ballers' 40. Guardians forced 29 Ballers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) who scored 25 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Swingman Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) chipped in 29 points and 6 rebounds. Jones attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Guardians' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jordan Swopshire (201-95, college: Colgate) produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard Jaire Roberts (196-96, college: S.Maine) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Guardians and five Ballers players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Guardians. They maintain first place with 9-2 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Ballers lost their third game in a row. They keep the second position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
