Regular Season Round 11: Kokomo B. - Indy E. 114-111

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Express (5-1) on the court of first ranked Bobcats on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Bobcats 114-111. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bobcats outrebounded Express 47-35 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Express helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Derek Hawthorne Jr (190-97, college: UT Martin) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Eugene German (183-97, college: NIU) helped adding 29 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard TJ Henderson (187-95, college: Marian, IN) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds and guard John Hart (195-89, college: IUPUI) scored 20 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bobcats maintains first place with 6-1 record, which they share with Jamestown J. Defending champion Express keep the second position with one game lost. Bobcats is looking forward to face Hustle (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Express will play against Thoroughbreds (#3) in Owensboro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
