Rather expected game in Tampa where 7th ranked Titans (1-5) were defeated by leader Coyotes (3-0) 124-107 on Saturday. Coyotes forced 35 Titans turnovers. Strangely Titans outrebounded Coyotes 55-34 including a 39-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Coyotes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Titans were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Vernon Jackson (178-96, college: Allen) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals. Eric Eaves (190-94, college: SC State) helped adding 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Lebanese-American guard Bassel Harfouch (193-93, college: Alcorn St., agency: Green Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists and forward Trevor Recio (201-97, college: Rollins) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Coyotes and four Titans players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Coyotes. They maintain fourth place with 3-0 record. Loser Titans dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Coyotes will face Firebirds (#5) in Raleigh in the next round.
