Regular Season Round 9: Waco R. - Dallas S. 121-136

Royals (4-1) recorded its first loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Skyline (3-4) 136-121. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Royals. Skyline dominated down low during the game scoring 90 of its points in the paint compared to Royals' 64. They outrebounded Royals 57-30 including a 41-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Skyline players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard Malachi Davidson (183-97, college: Kilgore JC) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winning side and forward Shannon Handy (198-97) accounted for 19 points and 16 rebounds. Swingman Gary Cox (198-90, college: Monmouth) came up with 30 points and 7 rebounds and point guard George Brock (183-95, college: SUNO) added 29 points and 7 assists respectively for Royals in the defeat. Five Skyline and four Royals players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Skyline maintains fifth place with 3-4 record. Royals at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Skyline will play against league's second-placed Push in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Royals will play against Finest and hope to get back on the winning track.
