Regular Season Round 9: Houston P. - Omaha F. 137-121

Bottom-ranked Finest (0-4) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to second ranked Push (6-1) 137-121 on Sunday evening. Push dominated down low during the game scoring 86 of its points in the paint compared to Finest's 60 and made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Finest 56-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. Push looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Finest was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Jevonlean Hedgeman (200-95, college: La-Lafayette) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and Ruston Hayward (196-93, college: CBC) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Push's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Craig Sword (190-94, college: MSU) with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 13 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Devin Patterson (180-92, college: Omaha) scored 24 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Five Push and four Finest players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Push. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader San Diego G. Finest lost their fourth game in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Push will face Skyline (#5) in Dallas in the next round. Finest will play against Royals and hopes to get finally their first victory.
