Not a big story in a game in Louisiana where 7th ranked Lightning (1-6) was defeated by fourth ranked Mavericks (4-1) 105-99 on Sunday. Mavericks forced 20 Lightning turnovers. Lightning was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard AJ Mosby (188-96, college: Chattahoochee TC) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!) (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) for the winners and point guard Jordan Lyons (180-97, college: Furman) chipped in 24 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was power forward Percell Washington (198-96, college: CBC) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and guard Deonta Terrell (193-92, college: A&M-Commerce) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mavericks. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Lightning lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with six games lost. Mavericks will face Leopards (#6) in Lewisville in the next round.
