Regular Season Round 8: Waco R. - Midtown P. 144-136

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Prestige (0-5) lost on the road to third ranked Royals (4-1) 144-136 on Saturday. Royals shot 69.4 percent from the field. Strangely Prestige outrebounded Royals 32-16 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Prestige was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard George Brock (183-95, college: SUNO) orchestrated the victory by scoring 51 points (!!!) (on 19-of-24 shooting from the field). Swingman Gary Cox (198-90, college: Monmouth) contributed with 25 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Brock attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. Guard Chris Whitfield (186-96, college: MBU) replied with 32 points and 4 assists and forward Michael Zeno (198-95, college: New Orleans) added 24 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Prestige. Four Royals and five Prestige players scored in double figures. Royals have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Shreveport M. and Kokomo B. Loser Prestige still closes the standings with five games lost. Royals will face Skyline (#5) in Dallas in the next round. Prestige will play against the league's leader Outlaws and hopes to get finally their first victory.
