North Central wins fifth CCIW Tournament Title in program history - Feb 24, 2019

North Central won its fifth College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Tournament title following a 72-65 victory over host Augustana on Saturday. It was the Cardinals' second title in the last three years.
With the win, North Central earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship. The full 64-team bracket will be announced via an NCAA.com Selection Show at 12:30 p.m. EST on Monday, February 25.
All five tournament titles have come under the direction of head coach Todd Raridon including 2006, 2012, 2013, 2017 and 2019.
On Saturday, Connor Raridon (6'6''-F) led the Cardinals with 23 points, along with six rebounds. Matt Cappelletti (6'5''-F) (13 points), Aaron Jones (6'0''-PG) (10 points) and Blaise Meredith (6'4''-G) (10 points, eight rebounds) all finished in double figure scoring for North Central. Augustana was led by Micah Martin (6'11''-C)'s 23 points and 10 rebounds.
North Central will be making its fourth-straight trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship and 11th appearance overall. Raridon has led the Cardinals to seven of those 11 appearances including the national semifinals in 2013.
