Regular Season Round 5: Swish - Riptide 85-84

The most exciting game of round 5 in the WPBA took place in Oakland. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of bottom-rankedRiptide (0-5) to sixth ranked Swish (2-3) 85-84 on Saturday evening. Swish forced 22 Riptide turnovers. Forward Madison Michelis (180, college: Menlo) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Point guard Mira Love-Sangco (163, college: Menlo) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. Forward Jhaina Stephens (185, college: SF State) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds and forward Jessica Woo (175, college: TAMIU) added 17 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Riptide. Five Swish and four Riptide players scored in double figures. Swish moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Royals. Riptide at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Reign.
