Leprechauns made 36-of-42 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Griffins turnovers. Leprechauns looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leprechauns made 12 blocks. Guard Derek Hawthorne Jr (192-1997, college: UT Martin) fired 39 points (!!!) and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Antwaan Cushingberry (173-1999, college: St.Francis, IN, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 18 rebounds and 9 assists. David Jones (-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Jordan Nesbitt (198-2001, college: Wyoming) added 23 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
