The most crucial game of the last round was a loss ofFive (13-6) in Montreal on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Toundra (13-6) 102-99 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Montreal T. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Shakur Daniel (198-1999, college: Tarleton St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Tafari Beckford (196-1995, college: Davenport) helped adding 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Worth to mention Beckford played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Antonio Davis (190-1996, college: Mid-Continent) responded with 29 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Charlie Marquardt (193-1995, college: Molloy) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Montreal T. keeps a position of league leader, which they share with KW Titans and Sudbury F. Montreal T. will meet league's second-placed Sudbury F. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sudbury F. will play against Lake Erie and hope to secure a win.
