New York Liberty confirmed in their roster 33-year old Belgian international point guard Julie Vanloo (5'8''-1993).
She has also been a member of the Belgian international program for some years. She has regularly played for the Belgian senior team since 2009 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2013.
Vanloo also represented Belgium at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament in Wuhan (China) this year. Vanloo's team won Gold and she averaged over 11 points per game.
She is quite an experienced player. Vanloo has played in ten different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia, and North America). She has played previously in Australia (Townsville Fire), France (Mondeville, Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration, and Lyon), Hungary (PEAC-Pecs), Italy (Ragusa and Moncalieri), Russia (Enisey), Spain (Zaragoza), Sweden (Lulea Basket), Turkey (Istanbul Universitesi SK, Galatasaray, and Mersin), other WNBA teams (Washington Mystics, LA Sparks, and Golden State Valkyries), and Belgium (Waregem, Ieper, and Young Cats). Her team made it to the Turkish final in 2026. Vanloo was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Honorable Mention in 2026.
