Storm welcomes back Cooke

Zia Cooke

Seattle Storm landed 24-year old 5-9 point guard Zia Cooke (college: S.Carolina). It is actually her comeback to Storm as she has played here before. She played recently at Glow (AUPro)the team from Seattle. In 6 games she just recently played she averaged impressive 17.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.2apg and 1.7spg last season. She also played for another AUPro team Rhythm earlier that season. The other team she played shortly was another AUPro team Glow.
Three years ago she was drafted by Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) in first round (10th overall).
The former University of South Carolina standout is in her third season in pro basketball.
Cooke is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life on four different continents. She is familiar with European, Asian, Australian and of course North American leagues. Cooke has played professionally in Australia (Townsville Fire), China (Yuanda), Turkey (Kocaeli) and WNBA (LA Sparks).
Among many awards she won NCAA championship title in 2022. She was voted to WBCA NCAA Division I All-Americans Honorable Mention back in 2021. Cooke played also for High School for 3 years.
