Portland Fire added 30-year-old British-American guard Karlie Samuelson (6'0''-1995, college: Stanford) to their roster for the new 2026 season. She played last summer with Minnesota Lynx, where she averaged 3.3ppg, 1.3rpg, and 1.1apg in 16 WNBA games. Samuelson also contributed to the team winning the Western Conference title.
Samuelson is a highly experienced player. Her career has taken her to three different continents, where she has played in eight different countries. She has experienced life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Australia, and North America. Samuelson has played professionally in Australia (Townsville Fire), Belgium (Royal Braine), Italy (Vigarano), Spain (Avenida), Turkey (Galatasaray and Mersin), United Kingdom (Lions), various WNBA teams (Dallas Wings, Washington Mystics, LA Sparks, Seattle Storm, and Phoenix Mercury), and Greece (Athinaikos).
Among many awards, she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LF Endesa Honorable Mention back in 2022.
She graduated from Stanford University in 2017 and is entering her tenth season as a professional player.
