WMLBA writers sat down with San Antonio owner Adriann Wolfe about her remarkable season this year. The San Antonio Troopers are playing for the 2018 Championship after not winning a single game last season.
What has been the key to a successful season thus far?
#1 - Our keys to success this season has been perseverance and holding everyone in our organization accountable for their roles. From ownership to the 10th roster player, we hold each other accountable as a team.
What were you able to learn last year in order to be better prepared for this season?
#2 - What we learned from last year, was that we need effective communication to be successful. Communication from everyone in the organization, and setting season expectations up front by our coach to our players.
Is it Championship or bust?
#3 - It is NOT Championship or bust for us. For a team who lost every game last season, I knew the key would be to start all over with a new coach and a whole new roster. We have nothing to prove or to lose. To date we have been able to meet and exceed our expectations and we hope to be able to continue to do so as we mature as an organization.
What will it take to defeat the defending champs?
#4 - It will take dedication, perseverance and hard work to beat the league champs from last season. We will practice hard and give 100% every game. Should we make it to the Championship game, the Troopers will give everything they have and it leave it all on the court
The WMLBA Championship will be played August 11th tip off is at 4:15 CST at the Judson Robinson Jr Center in Houston Texas.
