UPSHOT League announces tryouts for upcoming women’s basketball season

The UPSHOT League, a new professional developmental women’s basketball league launching in May 2026, has announced it will be holding open tryouts for female athletes looking to continue in the game at a professional level. The league has already announced four founding teams: the Jacksonville Waves, Charlotte Crown, Greensboro Groove and Savannah Steel. The league has stated that additional markets are upcoming. The UPSHOT League tryouts will take place on March 1, 2026. The tryouts will be held from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at Novant Fieldhouse in Greensboro, North Carolina. A second open tryout is scheduled for March 15 in Jacksonville, Florida. That round of tryouts will take place at FSCJ South Campus, also from 1:00–4:00 p.m. Players may pre-register for tryouts here. Final rosters will be announced on May 9.
