Bobcats outlast Lady Lions in first game of 2024

Penn State Mont Alto hosted Bryant & Stratton Buffalo on Friday evening in USCAA non-conference action. The game marked the first of the new year for Mont Alto. Bryant & Stratton upped the pressure in the second half, outscoring Mont Alto 40-17 as Mont Alto fell 83-42. Saige Roberts (5'7''-SG) led all scorers with 19 points and 7 steals. Kaleigh Hartman was the leading scorer for Mont Alto with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Following a Shanez Morales layup to keep Mont Alto within three points at 13-10, Bryant & Stratton reeled off 9 consectuive points to take a 22-10 advantage late in the first quarter. Kaleigh Hartman had four points and seven rebounds in the second quarter as Mont Alto shot 35.7% from the field in the second quarter and was trailing 43-25 at the half. Mont Alto was held to 1 of 13 from the field in the third quarter and Bryant & Stratton shot 7 of 21 to go ahead 58-39 after three quarters. Bryant & Stratton forced ten Mont Alto turnovers in the fourth quarter and held the Nittany Lions to 1 of 8 shooting in the final frame to win the non-conference tilt 83-42.
