The URBL is pleased to announce that Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, college: Atlanta Christian) of the Irving Assault has been named the URBL Player of the Week for the week ending May 24.
De La Cruz averaged 32.3 points, 11.0 assist a game for the Assault as they went 2-1 during the past week. De La Cruz started the week in Katy S. and put up 35 points and 11 assist in a 100-66 victory. Two nights later, De La Cruz had 32 points on 6 for 6 shooting from the three in a 100-101 loss against DFW. In their final visit to Katy, Irving took a 101-77 victory behind De La Cruz' 30 points and 10 assist. The Irving Assault now move to 13-2, tied for first place in the URBL. The great play of Will De La Cruz has put them in great Play-Off position (vs. Houston) in the 1st Round of the Play-Offs. 'De La Cruz has come into his own as of late, Will can play on any level given the opportunity ', said league owner Mac Claire. Will De La Cruz was also selected to the URBL All-Star Team for the first time and will be a lock on the All-URBL Team.

De La Cruz is the current 6th in scoring average with 20.8 points a game and is averaging 10.9 assist a game, good for third in the URBL. To go along with his scoring prowess, De La Cruz is second in the URBL in 3PT field goal percentage, 33/60 (55.0%). Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, college: Atlanta Christian)

The former Atlanta Christian player Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80) signed wit the ABA. He agreed on terms with the ABAs Georgia Prowl. The Prowl is the expansion team that is scheduled to take the start in November. They will be located in Atlanta, Georgia. The 28-year-old Will De La Cruz was among the best performers of the URBL last season. The guard was named to the NCAA Division 3 HM All-American Team in college. Kearse finished the season 2008-09 with SISU CPH in the Danish Canal Digital Ligaen averaging 22.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.8 assists per game in 29.8 minutes per game on the court. He finished the regular season as the second scorer with 22.5 PPG, seventh rebounder with 8.3 RPG, fifth in steals with 2.7 SPG, while he is also sixth in the number of fouls drawn per game.
