The Cleveland Havok of the WUBA (USA) will play in the 2018 Liga Mediterranean Cup hosted in Toulouse, France.

The WUBA and Toulouse, France made a joint announcement on Tuesday.

The WUBA have agreed to send two clubs of choice to the popular European event featuring teams from all over the world. The Havok will be the first selected based of a board vote Monday night.

Last season, the GIE Lady Matrix won the 2017 Mediterranean Cup led by star point guard Kristina King (180-G-92, college: Richmond) She was later named MVP while averaging just over 26 points per game.

The Havok will be coached by Kevin Franklin . Franklin is the owner of Team Havok in the UBA along with the women in the WUBA. He was last selected to be an assistant coach for the USA National Select team for the 2012 William Jones Cup. That summer coach Franklin won his first silver medal. He would later coach in the Dominican Republic along with Barcelona, Spain where he helped the GIE Lady Matrix win last years Cup championship.

"It is an honor to be invited to Toulouse, France", said Franklin. The French league is ranked among the top 5 in the world. I just love having the opportunity to represent the brand of both Team Havok and the UBA.

The Havok have agreed to sign co-captains Ayesha Barkley (188-C/F-87, college: Stetson, agency: Gamble Sports Management) (Germany) and Iasia Hemingway (180-F-89, college: Syracuse) (Australia) after they finish their respected seasons. Barkley a 6'3 Center attended Stetson University. She has played in over 9 countries in her career and was apart of the 2017 Cup championship last season. Hemingway attended Syracuse University where she received All-Big East honors. She was later drafted by the New York Liberty.

The 2018 Mediterranean Cup will take place May 31- June 4 2018 in Toulouse, France. Teams invited include France, Lebanon, Portugal, Jordan, Spain and of course the US. Local power house club Toulouse will be hosting the event. For more information follow @ https://www.facebook.com/MCOCEurope/
