Southern Generals triumph in the UBA Finals Freddie Williams Named MVP - May 23, 2011


Southern Generals triumph in UBA Finals as they prove themselves to be better than any other team in the UBA.

In the Final Southern Generals roll pass the Atlanta Assault 111-92. The Generals were led by the amazing play of Freddie Williams (6'2''-G-87, college: Clayton St.). Williams was the playoffs top scorer averaging 20.1ppg in the playoffs. Although Williams carried the Generals in the playoffs; Michael Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Clayton St.) stole the show in the Championship game. Sloan nailed 24 points nailing 6 three pointers.

Dominique Holmes (6'7''-F-84, college: So.Poly State) was the top performer for the Atlanta Assault. Holmes scored 30 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in a losing effort. You have to feel for a guy like Holmes, said John White. He played his heart out.

The Southern Generals have dominated the UBA from start to finish and it was a great finish to the UBA season.

2011 UBA All-Star Game roster - Apr 18, 2011 

The UBA on Monday released the complete rosters for the 2011 UBA All-Star team to be held April 30 in Atlanta.

The starters were chosen by owners voting and announced last week. The reserves were selected in voting by the head coaches in each conference, who had to vote for two forwards, two guards, a center and two players regardless of position.

All of the players chosen to represent the South come from the top three teams in the conference. The voting was much more spread out in the North with all different teams represented, including two with losing records.

The All-Star Weekend will begin Saturday April 30th at 3:30pm. The game will be held at Morrow High School.

2011 UBA All-Star Team unveiled - Feb 15, 2011

The starting lineups for the 2011 UBA All-Star Game have been revealed. The game will be played on April 30, 2011 at Westlake HS in Atlanta, GA. The UBA All-Stars were selected by a share vote of all the UBA's owners and coaches.

Michael Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Clayton St.), Jermaine Barnes (6'5''-G/F-82, agency: SportsList Inc., college: Atlanta Christian), Dailey Jermaine (6'8''-F-86, agency: SportsList Inc., college: Ill.-Chicago), Sylvester Morgan (6'10''-C-83, college: Georgia St.) (6'10''-C-83, college: Georgia St.) and Thomas Shewmake (6'10''-C-84, college: Cal.St. Northridge) were voted in as the Southern Conference starters, but they will miss the game due to overseas contracts. There replacements were announced by Darryl Reshaw Monday night. Disciples' Jermaine Barnes and Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, college: Atlanta Christian) of the Generals will be the South guards, while Morrow's Dailey Jermaine and General's Michael Sloan will be the starting forwards. Sylvester Morgan was named starting center for the South.

Jermaine Barnes was the top vote-getter in the UBA All-Star balloting with 50 out of 50 votes.

Three-Point and Dunk Contest Field Announced
Atlanta, Feb. 16, 2011 -- Reigning champion Geoff Harner (6'1''-G-83) of the Austin Knights will defend his title in this year's UBA Three-Point Contest, which will be held on Saturday, Apr. 30, at Westlake HS in Atlanta as part of UBA All-Star Saturday Night. Rounding out the field are All-Stars Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, college: Atlanta Christian) (6'2''-G-80, college: Atlanta Christian) of the Generals and Warren Beaulah (6'5''-G-84, college: Brewton Parker)ahal of the GIE Morrow Disciples, Chris Cromartie (6'3''-G-88, college: Gordon) of the Atlanta Assault, Brayon Brown (6'3''-G-86, college: Oklahoma) of the Norman Express, and Christian Sonier (6'0''-G, college: Prairie View A&M) of the Houston Xperience.

The Slam Dunk field is also very high. Reigning champion Ricky James (6'3''-G-84, college: Trevecca Naz.) of the DFW Warriros will be in attendance. Heavy favorite to win the contest is Houston Xperience' under dog Tony Hooper (5'11''-G-87, college: La-Monroe) who stands at 5'9''. It will be an exciting All-Star weekend for sure.
