Round 12: Panthers keep a leadership position- February 17, 2022

Edgewood P. - Lords of War 122-97 The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Panthers as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Panthers smashed 6th ranked Lords of War in Edgewood 122-97. Panthers have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Lords of War at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Lords of War will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Panthers will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Bucs in Bel Air. Fredericksburg G. - VA Beach W. 138-121 Undefeated Wildcats (5-1) recorded its first loss in Fredericksburg. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Grizzlies (3-3) 138-121. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Wildcats. Grizzlies moved-up to third place, which they share with York MA. Wildcats at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Beltway B.. Grizzlies will play against Crank (#3) in Capitol Heights in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Wildcats will play at home against the league's second-placed Bombers and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Beltway B. - Pioneers 134-99 We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when second ranked Bombers (5-1) crushed top-ranked Pioneers (0-1) in La Plata 134-99 on Saturday. Bombers have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with VA Beach W. Loser Pioneers still keep top with one game lost. Bombers will meet league's leader Wildcats in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pioneers will have a break next round. Reading W. - Harford B. 95-92 A very close game took place in Reading between Wizards and Bucs. Seventh ranked Wizards (1-5) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Bucs (2-4). Wizards managed to escape with a 3-point win 95-92 on Saturday evening. Wizards left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was Bucs' fourth loss in a row. They dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Wizards will meet higher ranked Mighty Ants (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bucs will play against the league's leader Panthers and hope to secure a win. |
