Christian Sonier (6'0''-G-82, college: Prairie View A&M) of Prairie View A&M became the first ever player drafted into the NEBA when he was chosen first overall by the Houston Expeerience. We had the opportunity to talk to Sonier after being selected number one overall.

Q: How does it feel to be drafted number one overall?
A: It feels amazing, it shows that your game is appreciated enough to go number one, but it will also be a challenge to prove myself of the number one pick. Im sure there were a lot of guys out there that felt they should have been number one, and now I have to go out and prove myself.

Q: If you had to compare yourself to one NBA player who would it be?
A: I normally don't compare myself to NBA players, but one comparison that I hear a lot is Stephen Curry.

Q: What do you feel are the strongest points of your game?
A: Shooting and ball handling. I feel that I can score from anywhere out on the court.

Q: What are your expectations for this season?
A: Compete for a championship. It will be exciting to travel, and to see where you compare to other players around the country.

Q: Do you think that Houston can compete for the championship this year?
A: Absolutely, we always have a chance to win. We have a great group of guys, and I feel good about our chances.

Q: What can fans expect from you this season?
A: To play my game, living up to the number one pick. My goal is to be the best player out there, game in and game out.
