Bulldogs' Win-Streak Ends at St. Elizabeth

Victorious in their last three games, the Brooklyn College men's basketball had a setback on Monday, falling at St. Elizabeth University, 73-62, in a non-conference makeup game on the road. Brooklyn drops to 9-13 overall with the loss while the Eagles improved to 7-14. Next Up: Brooklyn will look to bounce back on the road in CUNYAC play at John Jay on Wednesday, February 11, at 8pm. Trailing 8-7 early in the first half, the Bulldogs took their largest lead of the game, 13-8, following a 6-0 run capped by a Tyler Gordon (6'6''-F) tip-in with 12:14 remaining in the first half. However, the Eagles responded with a 9-0 run to regain the lead, 17-13, in the next three minutes of play. Brooklyn extended their lead to as many as four points, 26-22, after a D'aze Hunter (6'0''-G) three-point make with 2:12 to go in the first half. St. Elizabeth closed out the first half on a 9-2 run for a 31-28 halftime advantage. The Eagles opened the second half with five unanswered points. Brooklyn cut the home team's lead to as few as four points early in the second half. However, the Bulldogs were never able to pull even with the Eagles despite opportunities later in the half. St. Elizabeth led by as many as 15 points in the second half. St. Elizabeth's bench outscored BC's 38-26 on the evening. The Eagles also scored 15 points off of 13 BC turnovers while the Bulldogs managed 8 points off of 15 SEU turnovers. SEU's Josiah King (6'1''-G) scored a game-high 17 points. Brooklyn was paced by Joe Charles (6'0''-G)' 14 and 7 rebounds. He also dished out 5 assists Abdoulaye Gueye (6'3''-G) added 13 points while shooting 3-5 from behind the arc. Thomas Hall scored 10 points and pulled down 6 boards.
