Here is the weekly review of the top performing Statesmen alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Colin Dougherty (6'4''-G-1996, played in 2015-19, plays pro in Mexico) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (3-4) 94-77 in the Mexican CIBACOPA on Saturday night.
He scored 9 points in 18 minutes.
Pioneros de Los Mochis (5-1) is placed third in the CIBACOPA.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Dougherty averages 7.0ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.3apg.
#2. Xavi Almirall (6'8''-F, played in 2017-21, plays in Spain). Almirall could not help Esparreguera (14-7) to beat Es Castell (11-9) in the Spanish Tercera FEB (fourth division). He did not impress in that game on Saturday.
Almirall scored only 2 points.
The fourth-placed Esparreguera (14-7) was badly defeated83-65 on the road by the lower-ranked (#6) Es Castell in the Group C-A.
It was Esparreguera's first loss after four consecutive victories.
It's Almirall's fourth season with the team.
This year he averages 1.5ppg and 1.6rpg in 17 games he played so far.
