Brockport Women's Basketball Earns NCAA Tournament Bid for First Time Since 2009- March 5, 2025The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team has earned an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Championships and will travel to host Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA for first round action where the Golden Eagles will take on Elizabethtown College (PA) on Friday, March 7th. The Golden Eagles are making their sixth NCAA Tournament appearance in program-history and their first appearance since 2009 when they won the SUNYAC Conference Championship to earn an automatic bid. Brockport heads into the NCAA Tournament with a 24-4 overall record, just one win shy of the school-record of 25 wins originally set by the 2008 edition of the Golden Eagles. Brockport went 12-2 at home and 12-2 on the road this season. Head Coach Corinne Jones and her staff were named the Empire 8 Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Golden Eagles to the conference regular season title, the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament and hosting rights throughout the E8 tournament. Stephanie Jean-Baptiste was named the Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Year and freshman Peyton Maneri was named the Empire 8 Rookie of the Year. Jean-Baptiste is averaging 17.8 points per game and she ranks second on the team with 64 steals. Kaileigh Hunt averages 12.1 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Maneri heads into the tournament, averaging 8.5 points and she also posted a team-high 73 steals. As a team, the Golden Eagles high power offense ranks third nationally with 2,231 points this season, good for an average of 79.7 points per game. Brockport also ranks 12th nationally with an average of 14.3 steals per contest. The Golden Eagles earned an at-large bid into the tournament after falling in the Empire 8 Conference Championship game to visiting and second-seeded SUNY Geneseo on Saturday.
