Red Hawks stun Green Knights, win MWC Tournament title - Mar 1, 2020

After a three-year hiatus, the Ripon College Red Hawks are headed back to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. The Red Hawks pulled an upset and defeated the regionally ranked Green Knights of St. Norbert 84-71 on Saturday.
Ripon got off to a quick start, going up five before the Green Knights got on the board. St. Norbert was able to tie it up at 7 and the game would remain close through most of the first half. The Red Hawks would go cold for nearly three minutes and the Green Knights would take a seven-point lead with 5:08 remaining in the first half. The Green Knights would push the lead to as many as ten points and go into halftime leading by seven, 37-30.
The second half would be all Red Hawks. Ripon worked down St. Norbert's lead to within two points less than four minutes into the half. Retaking the lead 51-49 with 12:43 remaining, Ripon would never look back. The Red Hawks would lead by as many as eighteen with four minutes to go in regulation.
