We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Kenney Funderburk (6'4''-G-92, graduated '15, plays pro in FYR Macedonia) could not help Feni Industries (6-4) in their game last Saturday. Despite his very good performance Feni Industries was defeated 97-90 on the road by the higher-ranked MZT Skopje (#3). Funderburk was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 40 minutes. It's Funderburk's first season with the team. Funderburk has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 6.6apg and 1.9spg.

   #2. Deangelo Kirkland (6'8''-F-89, graduated '15, plays in Japan) was not able to help Tokyo Z (10-16) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fourth-placed Tokyo Z (10-16) was badly defeated 74-54 at home by the second-ranked Dragonflies in the Central group. Kirkland was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 9 rebounds. It was Tokyo Z's eighth consecutive loss in a row. It's Kirkland's first season with the team. Kirkland has very impressive stats this year 15.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.5spg in two games he played so far.

   #3. Experienced John A. Thomas (6'6''-PF-82, graduated '04, currently in Argentina), who plays in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) was not able to secure a victory for Petrolero (5-11) in their game last Monday. Despite Thomas' very good performance the sixth-placed Petrolero (5-11) was edged 78-76 in Concepcion de Urug. by the lower-ranked Parque Sur (#6) in the South - South group. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 13 rebounds in 36 minutes. This season Thomas has very high stats. He averages 22.3ppg, 10.3rpg and 1.1apg.

   #4. Ty Harris (6'2''-G-91, graduated '15, plays pro in FYR Macedonia) was the major contributor in a Pelister Bitola's victory against the closely-ranked Ohrid AV (3-7) 77-69 in the FYR Macedonian Prva Liga on Saturday night. He scored 18 points and added 7 assists. KK Pelister Sport Bitola (1-8) is placed second from the bottom (#10) in the Prva Liga. It was Pelister Bitola's first victory after seven consecutive loses. It's Harris' first season with the team. Harris has very impressive stats this year 18.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 5.2apg in nine games.

   #5. Nicklaus Turner (6'3''-G-92, graduated '14, plays in Austria) couldn't help the league outsider UBSC Raiffeisen Graz (0-6) in their game against Levice (4-2) in the Alpe Adria Cup. Turner scored only 4 points in 22 minutes. It was his first game for UBSC Raiffeisen Graz this season. The fourth-placed UBSC Raiffeisen Graz (0-6) was crushed 90-68 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Levice in the group A of Alpe Adria Cup. So far UBSC Raiffeisen Graz lost all six games in the Regular Season. The Regular Season already ended in the Alpe Adria Cup.

   #6. JaCori Payne (5'10''-PG-96, graduated '18, currently in Armenia), who plays in the Armenian League A couldn't help Aragatz (8-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Aragatz lost 90-94 on their home court in Gyumri to the one of league's weakest teams (#5) FIMA Basketball. Payne was the top scorer with 28 points. He also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Payne has very impressive stats this year 31.8ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.8apg and 2.6spg in nine games.

   #7. Antonio Bishop (6'9''-C, graduated '17, plays pro in Armenia) couldn't help Erebuni (3-8) in their game last Sunday. Despite Bishop's very good performance the bottom-ranked Erebuni was defeated 80-67 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Artsakh (#4). He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds in 26 minutes. It was his first game for Erebuni this season.

   #8. Brent Jackson (6'4''-G/F-94, graduated '16, plays in Mexico) led Libertadores to a 1-point victory against the sixth-ranked Santos 81-80 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) in Saturday night's game. Jackson scored 11 points and added 5 assists. Jackson has very impressive stats this year 19.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 3.3apg in 13 games. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
