Top Arizona State University alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Sun Devils players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. James Harden (6'5''-SG-89, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Houston Rockets (53-29) in their game last Friday. Despite his very good performance the Houston Rockets (53-29) were defeated 118-113 on the road by the Golden State Warriors. Harden was the top scorer with 35 points. He also added 8 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 4 balls in 39 minutes. It's Harden's seventh season with the team. Harden has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 35.6ppg, 6.7rpg, 7.4apg and 2.1spg.

   #2. Tra Holder (6'1''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in Germany) led Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt to a 1-point victory over the closely-ranked Giessen 46ers (13-21) 82-81 in the German BBL in Sunday night's game. Holder was MVP of the game. He recorded 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Holder's first season in pro basketball. Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt (16-18) is placed 11th in the BBL. The Regular Season already ended. This year Holder averages 5.6ppg and 1.8rpg in 20 games he played so far.

   #3. Shaquielle McKissic (6'5''-SF-90, graduated '15, currently in Turkey) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Gaziantep Basketbol in their game against Galatasaray (18-10) in the Turkish BSL. McKissic scored only 4 points, made 7 passes and 4 steals in 40 minutes. Gaziantep Basketbol was defeated 70-66 in Istanbul by the higher-ranked Galatasaray (#4). It was Gaziantep Basketbol's first loss after three consecutive victories. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. McKissic has relatively good stats this season 13.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.3apg and 1.7spg.

   #4. Gerry Blakes (6'4''-G-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for MIA-RO Cantu (16-14) in their game against Banco di Srd (18-12) in the Italian Serie A. Blakes scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. MIA-RO Cantu lost 81-87 in Sassari to the higher-ranked (#4) Banco di Srd. It was MIA-RO Cantu's first loss after three consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended. Blakes has relatively good stats this year 12.3ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.9apg in 30 games.

   #5. Jahii Carson (5'10''-PG-92, graduated '14, plays in Romania) was the major contributor in Pitesti's victory against the leader CSM Steaua Bucuresti (8-2) crushing them 87-64 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Friday night's game. Carson recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals in 28 minutes. BCM U FC Arges Pitesti (10-14) is placed sixth in Group Red. It's Carson's first season with the team. Carson has relatively good stats this year 14.6ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg.

   #6. Jonathan Gilling (6'8''-F-91, graduated '15, currently in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) couldn't help Melilla Baloncesto (21-13) in their last game. Despite Gilling's good performance Melilla Baloncesto was crushed 85-64 in Valladolid by the lower-ranked (#6) Carramimbre. He was the top scorer with 13 points. Gilling also added 4 rebounds. This year he averages 6.7ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.2apg in 34 games.

   #7. Ruslan Pateev (7'0''-C-90, graduated '13, plays pro in Poland) managed to help Legia Warszawa to win against the league leader Asseco Arka 100-94 in the Polish EBL on Thursday night. Pateev recorded only 4 points in 13 minutes. This season he averages 6.9ppg and 3.4rpg.

   #8. Experienced Shawn Redhage (6'8''-F-81, graduated '03, plays in Australia) couldn't help Perry Lakes Hawks in their game against Giants in the Australian State League (second division). Redhage scored 6 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 13 assists. His team lost 94-101. This year he averages 6.5ppg, 5.5rpg and 6.5apg in two games. Redhage is a naturalized Australian.

   #9. Obinna Oleka (6'8''-PF-93, graduated '17, currently in Mexico) led Gigantes de Jalisco to a victory against the closely-ranked Mantarrayas 73-65 in the Mexican CIBACOPA last Tuesday. Oleka scored 17 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 29 minutes. This season he has very high stats. Oleka averages 18.6ppg, 7.8rpg and 2.1apg. He is a naturalized Nigerian.
