Top University of Nebraska alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Cornhuskers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Shavon Shields (6'7''-F/G-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Spain) led Baskonia to a victory over the league outsider Gipuzkoa (9-22) 87-77 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Thursday night. He was MVP of the game. Shields recorded 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Kirolbet Baskonia Vitoria (25-6) is placed second in the Liga Endesa. It was his team's 11th consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Shields' first year with the team. Shields has relatively good stats this season 11.7ppg, 3.1rpg and 1.2apg.

   #2. Lance Jeter (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '11, plays in Holland) was the main contributor in Groningen's victory against the league leader Leiden (31-3) 84-71 in the Dutch Eredivisie in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Jeter scored 23 points, grabbed 5 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 3 balls. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Donar Groningen (22-12) is placed fourth in the Eredivisie. Jeter has relatively good stats this year 10.1ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.4apg and 1.4spg in 28 games he played so far.

   #3. Sek Henry (6'4''-G-87, graduated '10, currently in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish BSL could not help one of league's weakest teams Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (15-3) in their game last Thursday. Despite Henry's very good performance Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir was crushed 96-66 on the road by the leading Anadolu Efes. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Henry also added made 3 passes and 3 steals in 29 minutes. The Regular Season already ended. It's Henry's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg, 2.8rpg and 4.4apg. Henry is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #4. Tai Jack Webster (6'4''-G-95, graduated '17, plays pro in Turkey) contributed to Galatasaray's victory against the closely-ranked Gaziantep (17-11) 70-66 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night. Webster scored 9 points and added 3 passes. Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (18-10) is placed fourth in the BSL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Webster has relatively good stats this year 10.9ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.6apg in 24 games.

   #5. Experienced Jason Dourisseau (6'5''-F/G-83, graduated '06, plays in Holland) is a teammate of previously mentioned Lance Jeter. But that was another game of his team in Dutch Eredivisie which we would like to mention. Dourisseau contributed to an easy victory against the league leader Leiden (31-3) crushing them 93-63. He scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 20 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Donar Groningen (22-12) is placed fourth in the Eredivisie. It's Dourisseau's fourth season with the team. This year Dourisseau averages 9.7ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.4apg. He is a naturalized Dutch.

   #6. Caleb Walker (6'5''-G-89, graduated '12, currently in Belgium), who plays in the Belgian Euromillions League was not able to help Basic-Fit Brussels (21-13) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Basic-Fit Brussels lost 83-90 in Leuven to the one of league's weakest teams (#9) Bears. Walker was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 3 assists. Walker has relatively good stats this year 13.3ppg, 5.1rpg and 2.2apg in 31 games.

   #7. Jorge Bryan Diaz (6'11''-C-89, graduated '13, plays pro in Puerto Rico) was not able to secure a victory for Piratas de Quebradillas in their game against Capitanes in the Puerto Rican BSN. Diaz scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 24 minutes. His team was edged 89-86. This season he averages 6.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1bpg.

   #8. Jack McVeigh (6'8''-F-96, graduated '18, plays in Australia) was the major contributor in a North Adelaide Rockets' victory against the eighth-ranked Woodville Warriors 85-73 in the Australian State League (second division) in Saturday night's game. McVeigh scored 18 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 8 assists. He has individually a very good year with high stats. McVeigh averages 22.2ppg, 6.7rpg and 2.4apg in 11 games.

   #9. Duby Okeke (6'8''-C-94, graduated '18, currently in Spain) managed to help Hestia Menorca to win against the 11th-ranked Gijon 80-72 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Saturday. He recorded only 2 points, 4 rebounds and 2 blocks in 20 minutes. This season Okeke averages 5.6ppg, 5.5rpg and 1.9bpg.

   #10. Anton Gill (6'3''-G, graduated '18, plays pro in Canada) couldn't help the Fraser Valley Bandits (0-1) in their last game. Despite Gill's very good performance the Fraser Valley Bandits were edged 106-103 in Guelph by the Nighthawks. He was the second best scorer with 24 points. Gill also added 4 assists. It was his first game for Fraser Valley Bandits this season.
