Best performed former University of Maryland players in pro basketball in last week games

We bring you last week's top former Terrapins players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced D.J. Strawberry (6'5''-SG-85, graduated '07, plays pro in Spain) led Gran Canaria to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Leche Rio Breogan (9-21) 92-77 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Strawberry scored 20 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 31 minutes. Herbalife Gran Canaria (13-20) is placed 12th in the Liga Endesa. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Strawberry's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 10.3ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.0apg in 32 games he played so far. Strawberry is a naturalized Cameroonian.

   #2. Melo Trimble (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in Puerto Rico) could not help Piratas de Quebradillas (16-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Trimble's very good performance Piratas de Quebradillas was edged 89-86 on the road by the lower-ranked Capitanes (#3). He was the top scorer with 31 points. Trimble also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Trimble has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 6.3apg.

   #3. Adrian Bowie (6'3''-PG-89, graduated '11, currently in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to help Mgzavrebi (13-5) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Mgzavrebi lost 76-90 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#3) Delta. Bowie was the top scorer with 27 points. He also added 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in 37 minutes. Bowie has very impressive stats this year 20.1ppg, 7.7rpg, 6.4apg and 2.2spg in 25 games.

   #4. Niklas Caner-Medley (6'8''-F-83, graduated '06, plays pro in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (10-21) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Caner-Medley's very good performance Movistar Estudiantes Madrid was badly defeated 109-92 in a derby game by the leading Real Madrid. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 13 rebounds. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This season Caner-Medley averages 8.3ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.3apg. He is a naturalized Azerbaijani.

   #5. Richaud Pack (6'3''-G-92, graduated '15, plays in Spain) was the main contributor in Menorca's victory against the 11th-ranked Gijon (14-20) 80-72 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. Pack recorded 20 points and added 3 passes in 31 minutes. Hestia Menorca (18-16) is placed fifth in East group. The Regular Season already ended. It's Pack's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.6ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.6apg in 33 games.

   #6. Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (6'10''-C-85, graduated '07, currently in France), who plays in the French Jeep ELITE ProA couldn't help Levallois (14-19) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Levallois was defeated 92-86 at home by the lower-ranked Olympique Antibes (#14). Ibekwe scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. This season he averages 7.1ppg and 4.7rpg. Ibekwe is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #7. Dezmine Wells (6'5''-G-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Italy) couldn't help VL Pesaro in their game against Fiat TO in the Italian Serie A. Wells scored only 4 points in 13 minutes. His team was crushed by 22 points 93-71. This year he averages 8.8ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg in four games.

   #8. Jared Nickens (6'7''-G/F-94, graduated '18, plays in Canada) couldn't help the St. John's Edge in their game against the Moncton Miracles in the NBLCanada. He scored 9 points. His team was defeated 103-93. This season Nickens averages 7.5ppg and 1.9rpg.
