Best performed former Georgetown University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hoyas alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Mikael Hopkins (6'9''-F-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Bulgaria) led Balkan to a victory over the closely-ranked Beroe (19-5) 110-91 in the Bulgarian NBL last Monday. He was MVP of the game. Hopkins recorded 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in 25 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Balkan Botevgrad (16-8) is placed third in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Hopkins' first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Hopkins averages 16.9ppg, 9.1rpg, 2.3apg, 1.1bpg and 1.2spg in 31 games he played so far.

   #2. Chris Wright (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays in Italy) could not help Alma TR (16-14) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Wright's very good performance Alma TR was defeated 93-88 on the road by the leading Armani Milano. He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Wright also added 6 rebounds and dished 8 assists. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Wright's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 13.1ppg, 3.1rpg and 4.9apg.

   #3. Markel Starks (6'2''-G-91, graduated '14, currently in Poland) was the main contributor in a Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora's victory against the closely-ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (17-13) 81-73 in the Polish EBL in Friday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Starks recorded 19 points and added 3 passes in 30 minutes. Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora (24-6) is placed third in the EBL. It's Starks' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 5.6apg and 1.2spg in 31 games.

   #4. Jason Clark (6'2''-G-90, graduated '12, plays pro in Germany) was not able to help Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt (16-18) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt was badly defeated 95-77 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Braunschweig (#4). Clark was the top scorer with 26 points. The Regular Season already ended. Clark has relatively good stats this season 14.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.9apg.

   #5. Greg Whittington (6'8''-F-93, graduated '13, plays in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Hapoel Galil Gilboa (11-21) in their last game. Despite Whittington's very good performance Hapoel Galil Gilboa was crushed 104-77 in Beer Sheva by the higher-ranked (#5) Beer Sheva. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Whittington also added 9 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls in 39 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. It's Whittington's first season with the team. Whittington has very impressive stats this year 18.2ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.4spg in 29 games.

   #6. L.J. Peak (6'5''-G/F-96, graduated '17, currently in Italy) couldn't help Pistoia Basket in their game against Sidigas AV in the Italian Serie A. Peak scored 8 points. His team was defeated 88-75. He has relatively good stats this season 12.7ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg.

   #7. Hollis Thompson (6'8''-SF-91, graduated '12, plays pro in Germany) contributed to a 3-point HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim's victory against the league outsider Science City Jena 91-88 in the German BBL last Friday. He scored 6 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 22 minutes. This year Thompson averages 6.4ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.4apg in nine games.

   #8. Experienced Brandon Bowman (6'9''-F-84, graduated '06, plays in New Zealand) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Mountain Airs crushing them 119-82 in the New Zealand NBL on Saturday night. Bowman was MVP of the game. He scored 22 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. This season Bowman has very high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.5apg.

   #9. Rodney Pryor (6'5''-G, graduated '17, currently in Canada), who plays in the CEBL couldn't help the Fraser Valley Bandits (0-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Fraser Valley Bandits were edged 106-103 in Guelph by the Nighthawks. Pryor was the top scorer with 28 points. He also added 8 rebounds and 4 assists in 36 minutes. It was his first game for Fraser Valley Bandits this season.

   #10. Jonathan Mulmore (6'4''-G, graduated '18, plays pro in Brazil) couldn't help Londrina (10-4) in their last game on Monday. Despite Mulmore's very good performance the league leader Londrina was defeated 78-70 by the lower-ranked UniFacisa (#4). He was the top scorer with 21 points. Mulmore also added 6 rebounds and 3 assists (made all of his five free throws). He has relatively good stats this season 14.1ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.9apg.
