Top University of California - Riverside alumni playing currently pro basketball

Every week we bring you a list of the top former Highlanders players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Kyle Austin (6'8''-F-88, graduated '10, plays pro in Argentina) led Penarol to a victory against the league outsider Quilmes MP (12-26) 95-89 in a derby game in the Argentinian La Liga in Sunday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds. Austin also added and 5 steals in 34 minutes. Penarol Mar del Plata (9-5) is placed third in the La Liga. The Regular Season already ended. Austin has relatively good stats this year 12.6ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.3apg in 16 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Sean Cunningham (6'2''-PG-86, graduated '10, plays in Holland) contributed to a 1-point Groningen's victory against the league leader Leiden (31-3) 77-76 in the Dutch Eredivisie last Thursday. Cunningham recorded 8 points and added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Donar Groningen (22-12) is placed fourth in the Eredivisie. It's Cunningham's fifth season with the team. This year he averages 6.7ppg, 2.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg. Cunningham is a naturalized Dutch.

   #3. Chance Murray (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, currently in Austria) managed to help Basket Swans Gmunden in a victory against the closely-ranked Arkadia Lions (18-18) 70-61 in the Austrian A Bundesliga on Sunday night. Murray scored only 3 points in 16 minutes. Basket Swans Gmunden (24-12) is placed third in the A Bundesliga. This year Murray averages 8.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 3.6apg in 41 games.

   #4. Alexander Larsson (6'10''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain). Larsson could not help HLA Alicante (28-6) to beat Marin (19-15) in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). His contribution was not very remarkable in Saturday's game. Larsson recorded only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. The first-placed HLA Alicante (28-6) was defeated 91-86 on the road by the lower-ranked Marin (#3) in the East group. It was HLA Alicante's first loss after five consecutive victories. The Regular Season already ended. It's Larsson's first season with the team. This year he averages 6.7ppg and 4.1rpg.

   #5. Chris Patton (6'10''-F-91, graduated '14, plays in Australia) was not able to help Kilsyth Cobras in their game against Ballarat Miners (7-0) in the Australian State League (second division). Patton scored 5 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 28 minutes. The second-placed Kilsyth Cobras (6-2) were badly defeated 87-71 in Wendouree by the leading Ballarat Miners in the NBL1 group. Patton has relatively good stats this year 10.5ppg, 5.6rpg and 3.0apg in eight games.

   #6. Gentrey Thomas (6'4''-G, graduated '17, currently in Canada) contributed to a Moncton Magic's victory against the St. John's Edge 103-93 in the NBLCanada on Monday night. He scored only 2 points. This season Thomas averages 9.1ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.1apg.
