Top University of New Mexico alumni playing currently pro basketball

Every week we bring you a list of the top former Lobos players who continue their career in pro basketball.


   #1. Experienced Anthony Danridge (6'5''-F-86, graduated '09, plays pro in Uruguay) could not help Nacional (3-2) in their game last Monday. Despite his very good performance the third-placed Nacional (3-2) was edged 83-80 in a derby game by the second-ranked Aguada in the Places 1-6 group. Danridge was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 4 assists in 31 minutes. It's Danridge's first season with the team. Danridge has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 21.0ppg, 3.1rpg and 2.9apg.

   #2. Alex Kirk (6'11''-C-91, graduated '14, plays in Japan) led Toyota Alvark Tokyo to a victory over the leader Ryukyu GK (40-20) 67-57 in the Japanese B League in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Kirk had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group East. Toyota Alvark Tokyo (43-16) is placed third. Kirk has very impressive stats this year 17.1ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1bpg in 62 games he played so far.

   #3. Tim Williams (6'8''-F-93, graduated '17, currently in United Kingdom) was the main contributor in a 3-point Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders' victory against the sixth-ranked Cheshire Phoenix (17-16) 71-68 in the British BBL last Sunday. Williams was MVP of the game. He scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Williams' second season in pro basketball. Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders (24-9) is placed second in the BBL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. This season Williams has very high stats. He averages 15.7ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.5apg.

   #4. Jamaal Smith (5'9''-PG-85, graduated '08, plays pro in Brazil) contributed to a Botafogo F.R.'s victory against the third-ranked Pinheiros (21-5) 82-78 in the Brazilian NBB on Tuesday night. Smith was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points and added 6 assists. Botafogo F.R. (12-14) is placed seventh in the NBB. Smith has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 2.4rpg and 4.1apg in 31 games.

   #5. Joe Furstinger (6'10''-F, graduated '18, plays in North Macedonia) was not able to help Gostivar (18-7) in their game last Friday. Despite Furstinger's very good performance the third-placed Gostivar (18-7) was defeated 95-91 on the road by the leading MZT Skopje in the Places 1-6 group. He was the top scorer with 27 points. Furstinger also added 9 rebounds in 32 minutes. This season Furstinger has very high stats. He averages 18.4ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1bpg.

   #6. Darington Hobson (6'7''-G/F-87, graduated '10, currently in Italy), who plays in the Italian Serie A was not able to secure a victory for Fiat TO (8-21) in their last game. Despite his good performance Fiat TO lost 76-86 in Cantu to the higher-ranked (#9) MIA-RO. Hobson scored 11 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Hobson has relatively good stats this year 12.4ppg, 5.3rpg, 4.4apg and 1.5spg in 21 games.

   #7. Tony Snell (6'7''-G/F-91, graduated '13, plays pro in the NBA) managed to help Milwaukee Bucks to win against the Boston Celtics crushing them 123-102 in the NBA on Tuesday night. Snell scored only 3 points in 5 minutes on the court. This season Snell averages 5.7ppg and 2.0rpg.

   #8. Antino Jackson (6'0''-G-96, graduated '18, plays in Italy) couldn't help Zeus EG Rieti in their game against Unieuro Forli in the Italian Serie A2 (second division), despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game. He was the top scorer with 18 points. Jackson also added 5 rebounds and 7 assists. But his team lost 74-84. Jackson has relatively good stats this year 13.4ppg, 3.6rpg and 5.8apg in 12 games.
