Top University of New Mexico alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Lobos alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Alex Kirk (6'11''-C-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Japan) led Toyota Alvark Tokyo to a victory against the sixth-ranked Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (10-50) 96-84 in the Japanese B League on Saturday night. He scored 16 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 31 minutes. Toyota Alvark Tokyo (43-16) is placed third in East group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Kirk has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 17.2ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1bpg.

   #2. Karim Ezzeddine (6'10''-F-97, graduated '19, plays in Lebanon) contributed to Champville's victory against the closely-ranked Al Riyadi (12-4) 74-66 in the Lebanese LBL in Thursday night's game. He scored 9 points, had 10 rebounds and made 2 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Champville (13-3) is placed first in the LBL. This year Ezzeddine averages 8.5ppg, 7.5rpg and 2.0spg in two games he played so far. He has also Lebanese passport.

   #3. Experienced Jamaal Smith (5'9''-PG-85, graduated '08, currently in Brazil), who plays in the Brazilian NBB could not help Botafogo F.R. (12-14) in their game last Thursday. Despite Smith's very good performance Botafogo F.R. was defeated 67-58 on the road by the higher-ranked Pinheiros (#3). He was the top scorer with 17 points. Smith also added 4 passes in 30 minutes. Smith has relatively good stats this season 14.1ppg, 2.4rpg and 4.0apg.

   #4. Anthony Danridge (6'5''-F-86, graduated '09, plays pro in Uruguay) was not able to help Nacional (3-2) in their last game. Despite Danridge's good performance the third-placed Nacional (3-2) was crushed 85-63 in a derby game by the second-ranked Aguada in the Places 1-6 group. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It's Danridge's first season with the team. Danridge has very impressive stats this year 21.6ppg, 3.1rpg and 3.0apg in 34 games.

   #5. Joe Furstinger (6'10''-F, graduated '18, plays in North Macedonia) led Gostivar to a 2-point victory over the sixth-ranked Kumanovo (11-11) 86-84 in the North Macedonian Prva Liga in Saturday night's game. Furstinger was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 33 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Furstinger's first season in pro basketball. KK Gostivar (17-6) is placed third in Places 1-6 group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season Furstinger has very high stats. He averages 18.1ppg, 7.5rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1bpg.

   #6. Tim Williams (6'8''-F-93, graduated '17, currently in United Kingdom) contributed to a Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders' victory against the tenth-ranked Manchester Giants 73-66 in the British BBL last Sunday. He recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks. Williams has very impressive stats this year 15.1ppg, 5.8rpg and 1.4apg in 17 games.

   #7. Darington Hobson (6'7''-G/F-87, graduated '10, plays pro in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Fiat TO (8-19) in their game last Saturday. Despite his good performance Fiat TO was crushed 109-82 in Avellino by the higher-ranked Sidigas AV (#8). Hobson scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes. Hobson has relatively good stats this season 13.0ppg, 5.4rpg, 4.5apg and 1.5spg.

   #8. Daniel Faris (6'9''-C/F-87, graduated '09, plays in Lebanon) is a teammate of previously mentioned Karim Ezzeddine and both played together in the last Lebanese LBL game. Faris helped Champville win their game against the closely-ranked Al Riyadi 74-66. He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. This year Faris averages 2.8ppg and 2.9rpg in 21 games. He is a naturalized Lebanese.

   #9. Sam Logwood (6'8''-G/F-95, graduated '18, currently in Luxembourg) led T71 to a victory over the leader Basket Esch 92-77 in the Luxembourg Total League last Wednesday. He was MVP of the game. Logwood scored 23 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, passed 3 assists and added 2 blocks in 40 minutes. This season Logwood has very high stats. He averages 15.8ppg, 10.8rpg and 1.2apg.

   #10. Antino Jackson (6'0''-G-96, graduated '18, plays pro in Italy) couldn't help Zeus EG Rieti in their game against Remer TVG in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). He scored 7 points and added 4 passes. His team was edged 73-70. Jackson has relatively good stats this year 12.9ppg, 3.3rpg and 5.6apg in eight games.
