Top University of Southern California alumni playing currently pro basketball

We bring you last week's top former Trojans players who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Nikola Vucevic (7'0''-C-90, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Orlando Magic (42-40) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Orlando Magic (42-40) lost 93-98 on the road to the Toronto Raptors. Vucevic had a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 6 assists and 3 blocks (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line) in 39 minutes. It's Vucevic's seventh season with the team. Vucevic has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.2ppg, 11.8rpg, 3.8apg and 1.1bpg in 85 games he played so far.

   #2. DeMar DeRozan (6'7''-F/G-89, graduated '09, plays in the NBA) was the major contributor in a San Antonio Spurs' victory against the Denver Nuggets (54-28) 118-108 in the NBA last Thursday. DeRozan scored 25 points, had 4 boards, passed 5 assists and added 3 steals. The San Antonio Spurs have 48-34 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This season DeRozan has very high stats. He averages 21.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 6.0apg and 1.1spg.

   #3. Experienced Davon Jefferson (6'9''-F-86, graduated '08, currently in Italy) led MIA-RO Cantu to a victory over the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (14-13) 84-75 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday night. Jefferson was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds in 30 minutes. MIA-Red October Cantu (14-13) is placed tenth in the Serie A. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Jefferson has very impressive stats this year 17.8ppg, 9.0rpg and 2.4apg in 26 games.

   #4. Daniel Hackett (6'4''-G-87, graduated '09, plays pro in Russia) managed to help CSKA Moscow to win against the seventh-ranked Baskonia (15-15) 84-77 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. Hackett scored 5 points. CSKA Moscow (23-7) is placed second in the Euroleague. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Hackett averages 6.3ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.7apg. He is a naturalized Italian.

   #5. Alex Stepheson (6'10''-F/C-87, graduated '11, plays in Japan) was not able to help Yokohama BC (14-46) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the sixth-placed Yokohama BC (14-46) were edged 89-88 in Niigata by the leading Albirex in the Central group. Stepheson had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 21 rebounds in 30 minutes. It was Yokohama BC's 13th consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Stepheson has very impressive stats this year 15.2ppg, 13.6rpg and 1.9apg in 35 games.

   #6. Nikola Jovanovic (6'11''-C/F-94, graduated '16, currently in Italy) contributed to a Dolomiti En. TR's victory against the league outsider Pistoia Basket 82-73 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday night. Jovanovic scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. This season Jovanovic averages 6.0ppg and 4.0rpg.

   #7. Dwight Lewis (6'6''-G/F-87, graduated '10, plays pro in Argentina) was not able to secure a victory for Gimnasia in their game against Olimpico de La Banda in the Argentinian La Liga. He recorded 9 points in 34 minutes. His team was edged 95-93. Lewis has relatively good stats this year 13.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.7apg in 33 games. He is a naturalized Venezuelan.

   #8. Sam Clancy (6'8''-C-80, graduated '02, plays in Argentina) helped Instituto win their game against the 13th-ranked La Union 92-73 in the Argentinian La Liga last Tuesday. He recorded 5 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks. This season Clancy averages 4.9ppg, 6.4rpg and 1.4bpg.

   #9. Elias Ayuso (6'3''-SG-77, graduated '98, currently in Puerto Rico) helped Atleticos de San German edge the closely-ranked Piratas 87-85 in the Puerto Rican BSN on Sunday night. Ayuso scored 9 points in 24 minutes. This year Ayuso averages 9.1ppg, 1.6rpg and 1.6apg in 20 games. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #10. Kostas Charissis (7'0''-C-79, graduated '03, plays pro in Greece) helped Ippokratis win their game against the third-ranked Ermis Agias 78-69 in the Greek A2 (second division) in Wednesday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds. This season Charissis averages 9.4ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.4apg.
