Best performed former Arizona State University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Sun Devils alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. James Harden (6'5''-SG-89, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) led Houston Rockets to a victory over the Utah Jazz (50-32) crushing them 118-98 in the NBA last Wednesday. He was MVP of the game. Harden had a triple-double by scoring 32 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and passing 10 assists in 33 minutes. The Houston Rockets have a solid 53-29 record this season. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Harden's seventh year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Harden averages 35.7ppg, 6.6rpg, 7.6apg and 2.0spg in 82 games he played so far.

   #2. Shaquielle McKissic (6'5''-SF-90, graduated '15, plays in Turkey) was the main contributor in a 1-point Gaziantep Basketbol's victory against the second-ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (23-7) 74-73 in the Turkish BSL on Saturday night. He was MVP of the game. McKissic scored 18 points and added 4 assists. Gaziantep Basketbol (15-10) is placed sixth in the BSL. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. McKissic has relatively good stats this season 12.8ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.1apg and 1.6spg.

   #3. Jeff Ayres (6'9''-F-87, graduated '09, currently in Japan) contributed to a Ryukyu GK's victory against the fifth-ranked Shiga L-Stars (18-42) 85-79 in the Japanese B League in Sunday night's game. Ayres was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds in 23 minutes. Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa (40-20) is placed first in West group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Ayres' first season with the team. Ayres has very impressive stats this year 15.2ppg, 9.2rpg and 1.7apg in 52 games.

   #4. Gerry Blakes (6'4''-G-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Italy) helped MIA-RO Cantu win their game against the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (14-13) 84-75 in the Italian Serie A last Saturday. Blakes scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. MIA-Red October Cantu (14-13) is placed tenth in the Serie A. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Blakes has relatively good stats this season 12.3ppg, 3.3rpg and 2.7apg.

   #5. Eric Jacobsen (6'10''-PF-94, graduated '16, plays in Japan) could not help Fukuoka Rizing (12-48) in their last game. Despite Jacobsen's very good performance the sixth-placed Fukuoka Rizing (12-48) was edged 84-83 at home by the second-ranked Diamond Dolphins in the West group. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 14 rebounds. Jacobsen also added 6 assists, 3 blocks and 4 steals in 43 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was Fukuoka Rizing's third consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Jacobsen has very impressive stats this year 16.0ppg, 8.6rpg and 2.3apg in 36 games.

   #6. Ruslan Pateev (7'0''-C-90, graduated '13, currently in Poland) was not able to help Legia Warszawa in their game against Stelmet Enea BC in the Polish EBL. Pateev recorded 6 points. His team was defeated 100-96. This season Pateev averages 6.9ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #7. Willie Atwood (6'7''-F-94, graduated '16, plays pro in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for Surrey Scorchers (5-24) in their last game. Despite his good performance Surrey Scorchers lost 72-84 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#4) Glasgow Rocks. Atwood was the second best scorer with 13 points. He also added 7 rebounds in 23 minutes. Atwood has relatively good stats this year 11.3ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.3apg in 28 games.

   #8. Tra Holder (6'1''-G-95, graduated '18, plays in Germany) managed to help Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt to win against the fifth-ranked Brose Baskets 86-79 in the German BBL on Thursday night. He scored only 2 points. This season Holder averages 6.1ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.1apg.

   #9. Jonathan Gilling (6'8''-F-91, graduated '15, currently in Spain) helped Melilla Baloncesto edge the 16th-ranked Caceres Basket 78-76 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Saturday night's game. Gilling scored only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 19 minutes. This year Gilling averages 6.8ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.3apg in 29 games.

   #10. Obinna Oleka (6'8''-PF-93, graduated '17, plays pro in Mexico) helped Gigantes de Jalisco win their game against the closely-ranked Caballeros de Culiacan 107-97 in the Mexican CIBACOPA last Tuesday. He was MVP of the game. Oleka recorded 34 points (!!!) and grabbed 5 rebounds. This season Oleka has very high stats. He averages 21.5ppg, 9.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg. Oleka is a naturalized Nigerian.
