Best performed former Georgetown University players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hoyas alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Markel Starks (6'2''-G-91, graduated '14, plays pro in Poland) was the major contributor in a Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora's victory against the eighth-ranked Legia (15-14) 100-96 in the Polish EBL last Wednesday. He recorded 18 points and added 6 passes in 28 minutes. Stelmet Enea BC Zielona Gora (23-6) is placed third in the EBL. Starks' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Starks' first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 12.6ppg, 2.3rpg, 5.5apg and 1.2spg in 26 games he played so far.

   #2. Greg Whittington (6'8''-F-93, graduated '13, plays in Israel) led Hapoel Galil Gilboa to a 3-point victory over one of league's weakest teams Ironi Nahariya (7-20) 96-93 in the Israeli Winner League on Monday night. He was MVP of the game. Whittington recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 2 blocks. Hapoel Galil Gilboa (10-18) is placed tenth in the Winner League. Whittington has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 18.1ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.5apg and 1.3spg.

   #3. Henry Sims (6'10''-C-90, graduated '12, currently in Italy) led Virtus Roma to a victory over the 14th-ranked FCL Contract LG (6-22) 88-83 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Sims had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 2 blocks in 28 minutes. Acea Virtus Roma (20-8) is placed first in West group. The Regular Season already ended. It's Sims' first season with the team. Sims has very impressive stats this year 19.4ppg, 11.3rpg, 1.6apg and 1.9bpg in 28 games.

   #4. Chris Wright (6'1''-PG-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the second-ranked Umana Venezia (18-9) 104-85 in the Italian Serie A last Saturday. Wright scored 12 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 8 assists. Alma-Agenzia Per Il Lavoro Trieste (16-11) is placed sixth in the Serie A. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Wright has relatively good stats this season 13.4ppg, 3.0rpg and 4.9apg.

   #5. Jason Clark (6'2''-G-90, graduated '12, plays in Germany) contributed to a Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Brose Baskets (19-10) 86-79 in the German BBL on Thursday night. Clark scored 22 points in 22 minutes. Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt (12-17) is placed 13th in the BBL. Clark has relatively good stats this year 14.0ppg, 2.6rpg and 3.2apg in 25 games.

   #6. Joshua Smith (6'10''-C-92, graduated '15, currently in Japan) helped Toyama Grouses win their game against the fifth-ranked San-en NeoPhoenix 91-79 in the Japanese B League in Sunday night's game. Smith recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 11 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). This season Smith has very high stats. He averages 19.9ppg, 10.7rpg, 2.8apg and 1.1spg.

   #7. L.J. Peak (6'5''-G/F-96, graduated '17, plays pro in Italy) could not help Pistoia Basket (6-21) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the bottom-ranked Pistoia Basket lost 73-82 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#5) Dolomiti En. TR. Peak was the top scorer with 24 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 34 minutes. Peak has relatively good stats this year 12.2ppg, 2.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg in 25 games.

   #8. Greg Monroe (6'11''-C-90, graduated '10, plays in the NBA) helped Philadelphia 76ers win their game against the Brooklyn Nets 131-115 in the NBA on Thursday night. Monroe scored 9 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Monroe has relatively good stats this season 9.2ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.5apg.

   #9. Hollis Thompson (6'8''-SF-91, graduated '12, currently in Germany) was not able to help HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim in their game against ratiopharm Ulm in the German BBL. He scored 7 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 23 minutes. His team was edged 82-79. This year Thompson averages 7.5ppg, 5.0rpg and 2.0apg in four games.

   #10. Reggie Cameron (6'7''-F-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Portugal) helped Esgueira / Oli edge the sixth-ranked Imortal 83-81 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. Cameron scored 12 points. This season Cameron averages 9.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.2apg.
