Best performed former Davidson College players in pro basketball in last week games

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Wildcats alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Stephen Curry (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Golden State Warriors (57-25) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Golden State Warriors (57-25) lost 131-135 on the road to the Los Angeles Clippers. Curry was the top scorer with 29 points. He also added made 6 passes and 3 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in 34 minutes. It was Golden State Warriors' first loss after six consecutive victories. It's Curry's tenth season with the team. Curry has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 27.1ppg, 5.5rpg, 5.2apg and 1.4spg in 73 games he played so far.

   #2. Jack Gibbs (6'0''-G-95, graduated '17, plays in Finland) led Vilpas to a victory over the eighth-ranked BC Nokia (17-23) crushing them 106-70 in the Finnish Korisliiga on Friday night. Gibbs was MVP of the game. He recorded 30 points (!!!), 3 assists and 3 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Gibbs' second season in pro basketball. Salon Vilpas Vikings (33-7) is placed first in the Korisliiga. This season Gibbs has very high stats. He averages 16.5ppg, 2.2rpg, 3.6apg and 1.1spg.

   #3. Chris Czerapowicz (6'7''-G-91, graduated '14, currently in Russia), who plays in Russia was not able to help one of league's weakest teams BC Nizhny Novgorod (13-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance BC Nizhny Novgorod lost 84-94 in Tallinn to the higher-ranked (#7) Kalev/Cramo. Czerapowicz recorded 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 34 minutes. His team will play only one more game in the VTB United League Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Czerapowicz has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg and 4.0rpg in 17 games. He is a naturalized Swedish.

   #4. De'Mon Brooks (6'8''-F-92, graduated '14, plays pro in Germany) was the main contributor in a medi Bayreuth's victory against the seventh-ranked Telekom Baskets (15-13) 84-78 in the German BBL last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Brooks recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 4 assists. medi Bayreuth (13-15) is placed 11th in the BBL. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. Brooks has relatively good stats this season 12.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.6apg.

   #5. Peyton Aldridge (6'8''-F-95, graduated '18, plays in Italy) contributed to a Vanoli Basket Cremona's victory against the closely-ranked Happy Casa BR (16-11) 93-86 in the Italian Serie A on Saturday night. Aldridge scored 10 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 28 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Vanoli Basket Cremona (18-9) is placed third in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Aldridge has relatively good stats this year 11.9ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.2apg in 26 games.

   #6. Jake Cohen (6'10''-F/C-90, graduated '13, currently in Israel) helped Maccabi T-A win their game against the tenth-ranked Galil Gilboa 88-70 in the Israeli Winner League in Sunday night's game. Cohen recorded 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. This season Cohen averages 7.0ppg, 4.1rpg and 2.0apg. He is a naturalized Israeli.
