Top Wichita State University alumni playing currently pro basketball

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Shockers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.


   #1. Conner Frankamp (6'1''-PG-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Bulgaria) led Beroe to an easy victory against the league outsider Cherno More (3-20) 105-88 in the Bulgarian NBL in Thursday night's game. He scored 18 points and added 6 passes in 28 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Frankamp's first season in pro basketball. BC Beroe (10-2) is placed first in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. It's Frankamp's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Frankamp averages 19.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.3apg and 1.5spg in 22 games he played so far.

   #2. Garrett Stutz (7'0''-C-90, graduated '12, plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Toyotsu FE's victory against the fourth-ranked Earthfriends Tokyo Z (22-38) 92-79 in the Japanese B2 League last Saturday. Stutz recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 12 rebounds. Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya (41-19) is placed second in Central group. The Regular Season already ended. This season Stutz has very high stats. He averages 20.9ppg, 13.0rpg and 4.0apg.

   #3. Gal Mekel (6'3''-PG-88, graduated '08, currently in Russia), who plays in Russia could not help Zenit Sankt Petersburg (14-11) to beat Lokomotiv (17-7) in the VTB United League. He recorded 8 points and added 7 assists in 22 minutes. Zenit Sankt Petersburg was badly defeated 94-78 on the road by the higher-ranked (#4) Lokomotiv. It was Zenit Sankt Petersburg's fourth consecutive loss in a row. Mekel's team will play only one more game in the VTB United League Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. This year Mekel averages 7.6ppg, 1.8rpg and 5.4apg in 12 games.

   #4. Landry Shamet (6'4''-G-97, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) led Los Angeles Clippers to a victory against the Golden State Warriors (57-25) 135-131 in the NBA in Monday night's game. He scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Los Angeles Clippers have 48-34 record this season. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Shamet has relatively good stats this season 10.4ppg, 2.2rpg and 2.2apg.

   #5. Experienced Ramon Clemente (6'7''-PF-85, graduated '09, plays in Argentina) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Olimpico de La Banda (14-18) 91-72 in the Argentinian La Liga last Thursday. He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. San Lorenzo de Almagra (25-3) is placed first in the La Liga. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Clemente averages 4.2ppg and 3.3rpg in 20 games. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

   #6. Jonathan Durley (6'8''-F/C-88, graduated '11, currently in Mexico), who plays in the Mexican CIBACOPA was not able to help Ostioneros de Guaymas (3-9) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his very good performance Ostioneros de Guaymas was edged 73-70 in Hermosillo by the higher-ranked Rayos de (#6). Durley recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. This season Durley has very high stats. He averages 16.8ppg, 8.3rpg, 1.1apg and 1.2bpg.

   #7. Clevin Hannah (5'11''-PG-87, graduated '10, plays pro in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Gran Canaria in their game against La ICL Manresa in the Spanish Liga Endesa. He was the second best scorer with 9 points. Hannah also added 6 passes in 19 minutes. His team lost 76-84. Hannah has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg, 1.9rpg and 4.2apg in 20 games. He is a naturalized Senegalese.

   #8. Fred VanVleet (6'0''-PG-94, graduated '16, plays in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Orlando Magic crushing them 107-85 in the NBA last Sunday. He recorded 9 points and added 4 passes. VanVleet has relatively good stats this season 10.7ppg, 2.6rpg and 4.7apg.

   #9. Shaquille Morris (6'8''-C-94, graduated '18, currently in Japan) contributed to a Kyoto Hannaryz's victory against the fourth-ranked Osaka Evessa 69-57 in the Japanese B League on Saturday night. He scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 37 minutes. Morris has very impressive stats this year 16.3ppg, 8.4rpg and 2.1apg in eight games.

   #10. Rauno Nurger (6'10''-C-93, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) helped Levitec Huesca win their game against the league outsider Araberri crushing them 105-68 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Sunday night's game. Nurger scored 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Nurger has relatively good stats this season 13.1ppg and 6.3rpg.
